Lockerbie Elementary

The new school is a contemporary expression situated on the intersection of the Massachusetts Avenue Cultural District and the Historic Lockerbie Neighborhood. It is inspired by familiar shapes and materials responding to the cultural landmarks which surround it. The gestural building form creates plaza space for citizens and proposes civic unity for the community.
